100th Post and more mini origami books!

I just realized its my 100th post!

This item has been popular in the Christmas month.Its a PDF tutorial I made by myself on how to make these mini origami books. The diagrams inside are all totally drawn by me using Excel drawing tool. Thanks to a skill taught to me by my former boss. He could draw entire machine layouts just using the Excel drawing tool. It is also neat to draw part by part and then group them together to complete the big picture! I love using Excel to draw now.

I made a few more of these mini origami books and they turn out nicely on the photos I took. These books are really neat because they are totally hand bounded without the use of any adhesive. You can choose the colors of your pages and cover. Adding a ribbon is also a very nice touch to it.

They can be used as gift tags as a finishing touch to a present that you are going to give. Write a poem in them and they can be nice valentine gifts too!

The PDF tutorial retails at my shop for $5 while the books retail at my shop from $3.99 to $4.49. I love those that have different colors for each page. They are so colorful and make me happy somehow haha....

I finally sold my Felt Raspberry Birthday Cake... on my Birthday!
And I sold 2 different felt and towel Sushi sets during Christmas

This is Sushi Towel set 1. It comprises of tamagozushi, ebi sushi, ikura sushi and futomaki.

And this is Sushi Towel Set 2! It has tempura prawns, onigiri and maguro, sake, unagi and ika sashimi.

Black puppies for adoption - free!

Calling all dog lovers out there.....

If you are planning to welcome a furry friend into your life, take a look at this entry. I have 4 cute black puppies that need a caring home. They are absolutely free of charge with no strings attached. They just need a good owner who will provide shelter, food and love.

This is their mom Lulu :

She's small..... and would look like a dachshund if her ears dropped down.

This is their dad ahMan :
You may recognize him from my previous posts. He's my huggy beary doggy. This all started when we failed to take Lulu for spaying in time. Now we've ended up with 4 cute black puppies and a sheduled appointment to the vet for spaying next month.

There are 1 male and 3 female puppies, all of them were born on 2008 Sep 15:
1) Male: Colour is black & brown like his dad. Tends to look blurblur sometimes. Loves to sleep. Has short legs.

2) Female: Colour is black & brown like her dad. You can't see it clearly in the pictures though. She's the fattest and fluffiest of them all. She has the shortest tail. Also short legs. Loves to eat & sleep. But when she wakes up she's mischievous and likes to wake the other sleepyheads up to play.

Just woke her up for the photo shoot. So she is yawning in all the pics I have of her.

3) Female: Black. Fluffy fur. Moderately fat. Has short legs. She doesn't make a fuss and likes to explore by herself. Her nose is very short. Some times she looks like a pekingese from the side view. (But thats just my opinion lol).

4) Female: Black. Short haired. Long legs and tail. She can walk very fast maybe because she has the strongest and longest legs of them all. Has a pitiful look in her eyes that say " adopt me please!"

I know that most people out there tend to go for the male puppies first. But just so you know, female puppies are a joy to own too! They tend to listen to you more, are more affectionate and caring, and they don't pee on every tire and post in your house!

If you are interested in adopting one of the female puppies, I can get some help to spay them at a cheaper price through the SPCA in Ipoh. Maybe even a little sponsorship if you can't afford to spay them.

Do you rmb when u were small and there was this game that u used to play with stones or mini bean bags that ur mother made for you? I think it was called batu seremban or sumth like that.... I guess if ur not from Asia, you would have played with a game called 'jacks' (?)

I wanted to introduce this game to the world, so I've made my own version, complete with instruction manual to be sold at my etsy shop.

It really has a traditional feel to it, and I hope it would also appeal to international buyers.

In a twist of fate a few months back, I chanced upon Kelly's bloggger blog. We have quite a few things in common, she's in Ipoh and she's a fellow craft enthusiast, fellow etsy shop owner and fellow process engineer in the semiconductor industry. She mostly sells felt food patterns in her shop and her signature 'inchies'.... her etsy shop is kiiss.etsy.com

Why do I like to make handmade stuff so much? Maybe its because I feel it gives that item its own uniqueness and each of them conveys my thoughts and feelings when I make them. The item is uniquely designed and each one is different in its own way. You'll never get 2 exact same items. Sometimes when you want something in a particular pattern or color, you just have to make it urself and u'll be guaranteed 100% satisfaction.

Sis & me always used to joke that 'handmade is another word for ugly'..... haha... as in.... Ooooo that bear looks 'handmade' ....o.O Actually it just means that the little imperfections in a handmade product is what makes it unique and endearing to you. We still keep that lopsided eeyore with his rastafarian hair, cos he once dropped in the toilet bowl, and we blowed him dry with the hair blower till it fried his hair....-___- Sometimes you get tired of all that machine made perfection.

Spent most of my time in my hometown making new craft projects for my etsy shop.

Made a whole raspberry mousse cake and I dedicate it to D & C!
Happy Birthday to both of you and Congratulations on getting full A's too!!!

Tediously made of 8 identical slices of cake.... they can be separated or tied together with the ribbon for that delicious whole cake effect. More photos available in my shop..... This cake is made of high quality felt that I bought in the craftshop.... I consider it my masterpiece lol!!!

Besides that, I also designed 4 felt hair clips..... getting inspiration from the 4 seasons, even though we only have 1 season here... haha...

Also put up the hamburger set that I made during CNY for sale....
The felt is a different kinda felt.... though some ppl may like it cos its harder and sturdier ....

I love the hamburger best!!!! Also love how the photos turn out so nicely when I take them at home.... must be my mom's digital Canon camera plus the beautiful and simple backdrop in the kitchen..... I feel it makes my photos turn out more professionally and less editing is needed... haha

Democracy --- The people decide

Election day was over last Saturday..... and subsequently the reasons were made known to the people on Sunday. It was described by the media as a political tsunami, a tidal wave of epic proportions in favor of the opposition. Well, in the peninsular anyway.

It was my first time voting this year. Went to the polling centre in the late afternoon, very few ppl there. We all cast our vote calmly and went home after that. On Sunday,the results for my area was he rocket got 10 out of 11 seats they contested for, which was an unforeseen victory.

The power of the people's vote denied the ruling party the 2/3rd majority they had hoped for. Instead they lost 4 of the states that they ruled in the past 4 years.

Election outcomes aside, I'm proud to say that Malaysia had a very peaceful election compared to all other countries. This is a true show of racial unity and democracy. I hope all this would work to the people's favor..... as each party will have a chance to show their worth.

A change of government

It's election time again in Malaysia. To be exact it's election day tomorrow. 8th of March. All around u can see banners and flags of all the political parties hung in every place imaginable. All of them competing for prime location and competing for the biggest banner to be hung up.

At roundabouts u can see rows and rows of banners hung by all different political parties. The crescent moon, the full moon, the rocket, the weight. If there is a place where one party has made its mark, the other parties will make their mark too... lol!

The election fever affects the whole of Malaysia, not only this peninsular.

Anyway, it's not only our nation that has a change of government, it's happening in my department at work now. >.< Just received new that there's gonna be an organizational restructure for our engineering group and this would affect our department. Our beloved boss is gonna be transferred over for development of a new project. For now, we feel like orphans.

Now, it feels like we're stuck in a sinking ship, and the captain has gone. We have 2 navigators but no person to steer the wheel. I'm one of the passengers trying hard to bail the water out of the boat. Yesterday, one of the passengers jumped out of the boat, waving goodbye to us. Now we have less ppl to bail water =.=""

Just had news yesterday that there was to be a new captain to steer the wheel next month. However, the model of the ship he's used to driving isn't same as our model. He probably won't even know about my process.

Sigh. Seems that every company I go to, I face an almost similar situation. Lolzzz....

First Sale!!!

Well, thanks to Etsy, I've sold them! Just posted them today.... hope that Heather and Todd will receive it within 2 weeks time.

This just motivated me to create more stuff to sell online.... I enjoy creating these things and it's especially exciting that someone in another corner of the world would wanna buy them!!!

Do u remember those little icing cookies we used to eat as a little kid? They could be bought at the sundry shop nearby.... they were kept in big tins....along with all other kinds of assorted cookies.

So, do u suddenly have the urge to pop by the nearest sundry to shop to buy some of these icing cookies to eat now?

Finished making my towel dog from the DIY kit~~~ It belongs to the same family as my brown towel bear now...
Here he is posing on my blue MAS pillow again.... I made his ears floppy as opposed to the point uppy ears in the instructions... Wasn't easy cutting the towel cos it frayed easily and all the towel bits kept dropping here and there.

It's a birthday card, but in a form of a jar o.O
There are multiple layers in the jar, and you can shake them about to make the layers move, forming different combinations of scenery inside....

What did u do during CNY?

I spent almost all of my time making felt food in my room.
Rmb the DIY felt food kits I bought last month? I've finished making all of them. Felt so happy when I finished making them, and the food just looked so cute! Took photos of them with Barney... but he died with them.

So I'll just have to take another photo of them when I go home next month for D & C's birthday and also the elections. Whee... my first chance to vote at the election... haha

Anyway I had some leftover felt from the stuff that I made. So I made some felt cookies from them.

Oops... these are real cookies....

These are my handmade felt cookies.......all packed up in a box ready to be sent as a gift...

Strawberry, coffee, peanut butter and dark chocolate felt.

Barney died

Yesterday, Barney died. He fell into a bottomless pit of sh*t and couldn't climb out anymore.
*sigh*

Those who know what happened will know what I'm talking about. Those who don't will probably think I'm mad.

In the middle of hatching a future business plan..... busy with line issues at the same time....

Sometimes u have an opportunity in front of u, but whether u dare to seize it is up to u. U say u don't like the current situation ur life is in now. But it's also up to u to decide whether u want to change it or not. Maybe ur scared of change and uncertainness in ur future, that's why u slip back into the old comfortableness of a mundane meaningless job.

Anyhow, still in the midst of risk assessing so I don't know how this will turn out. >.<

Yesterday had an 'eventful' day at work..... finally reached my boiling point.

Normally that damn supervisor always tries to manipulate me to say what he wants, and point fingers at me when anything goes wrong at the line. He talked back louder to me as if ppl who talked loud are always right. Well, 2 can play at that game! I just talked one tone louder back to him, and it kept on going till the ppl around us were just looking at me with boggled eyes o.O. Lolz... later on my boss told me that he didn't know I had such a temper in me.... o.O

Well, on my way home I nearly met with a car accident. Have been going home around 8pm these days.... The road home is long and there places which are really dark.... there always are lorries and damn slow cars that drive on the right lane (argh.. hate drivers who are like that!).... the lorry suddenly swerved to my side and I crashed up the low stone divider.... at that moment, I saw something fly off to the side... Luckily my car didn't overturn and I crashed back down the divider. Stopped at the nearby Mobil station to check my car.... Turns out my front tyre ring got all crooked and the thing that flew off when I hit the divider was my tyre rim...

Lolz... couldn't find it the next day when I went to work though... wonder where it flew. I'm wondering if it flew and hit a motorist on the head what would happen? o.O Sigh... I'm so tired... I don't like driving such a long way to work or to town evryday... I really wanna move nearer to town.

Retail Therapy

Went shopping last week, gone all out on craft stuff at the Living Cabin and Anime.

Bought a few sets of felt DIY kits.... at RM4.90 to RM5.90 each.... gonna be bz making felt food for the next few weekends.

Went anime shopping.... got original releases of Mushishi and Nana... and another 'not original' copy of some shoujo anime.... Also realized that it's more worth it to buy original here in Ipoh!!!!

Anyway, I'm delighted with my purchases so I'd thought I'd record it in my blog that's all...lolz :P

Went to the Ipoh SPCA yesterday again to hand in my monthly donation to them. Also received a lovely thank you card and the receipt for the last payment. It's tax exempted~ ~ another reason for you to donate.

Anyway, I met Roger again..... brought him some dog biscuits, but I guess he's not used to eating those.

I really need some practice on capturing animals..... they always look blur in my photos.

Can't really capture his green eyes here..... The biscuit I gave him nearly dropped out from his cage.

Also came across a quaint little dog that day. She seems so at ease walking with 2 legs, as if she's a small little human. She hasn't had a sponsor yet, so if you do come down to the Ipoh SPCA come take a look at her.....

There's also a Basset Hound puppy (a.k.a. Hush Puppy) there, not yet 1 year old. I forgot to take a photo of him/her.... Maybe next time!

P.S. Noticed I've got quite a number of hits coming from ppl who search for puppy adoption in Ipoh or ISPCA.... If ur one of the ppl, do take the opportunity to visit the Ipoh SPCA....

Brown Towel Bear

Made this little brown bear some time ago with a DIY kit from Living Cabin. He's sitting on the MAS pillow I 'took' back from my trip to UK. Hmm... I guess not bad for my first bear... his ears and eyes a bit lopsided.... some of his limbs are overstuffed.... but that's what makes it distinguishably handmade... lolz

*handmade = another word for ugly*

I like the material, it reminds me of Teddy's towel. I stuffed him with azuki beans and cotton... so he's a beanie. Made another Teddy bear out of cloth scraps making use of the templates in the DIY kit....I'll take a picture of it another time.

Just put in an encryption feature in my blog to encrypt my most private thoughts.... these entries are just for the eyes of my few trusted frens and myself.
It's so that ppl don ask me too many personal questions. If I don't trust u I won't ever tell u. If I do trust u, I'll tell u without u asking me.

Speaking of encryption and decryption.... this reminds me of Computer Security class where we had to decrypt some kinda code for our assignment. 3 pretty puppies for adoption!

Went to the ISPCA again today.

Remember that cute little furry doggie that looks like a Pekingese which I introduced in an earlier blog entry?

She's still available for adoption....

Woof! My name is Fluffy.

She's quite a playful pup, always looking for other puppies to play with. When I came to visit today, she was chewing on flowers and grass and chasing other puppies around. If u want a playful pup, she's ur match!

Today, I also saw 2 other new puppies which weren't there during my last visit. Both of them have droopy ears, short hair, and are really fat! They were so busy playing with Fluffy that it was soooooo difficult to get a good photo of them.

Here's SpottyGirl. She's white, with big black spots all over her body. Erm.... I would say the pattern is somewhat like a dairy cow? She's really cute...>.< She's a playful one too, wandering here and there. However, she's still no match for Fluffy.

Here's her sister, SpottySis. She's white too, but with brown spots. She looks almost the same as SpottyGirl, only thing is that her spots are brown. She's more shy and quiet than the other two.

All 3 pretty girls are available for adoption. If you are looking to adopt a puppy in Ipoh, go to the ISPCA (Ipoh Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and look for them. They live at the ISPCA but do not officially belong to them, they actually belong to the Indian family that lives at the premises. You'll fall in love with them when you see them!

幸灾乐祸

Recently I've met a few ppl who fit this category.... 幸灾乐祸.
I just wanna say I despise ppl who are like that.
Ppl who laugh at the misfortune of others.
Ppl who gleefully bring the news of misfortune to others.
Ppl who don't feel sympathy or try to help.
Ppl who like to spread news of misfortune befalling someone to all the other ppl they know.

It makes me think they are like those little children who watch Saturday morning cartoons and laugh so happily when the cartoon characters get beat up. To me, these kinda ppl are as ignorant and childish as little children. They are also selfish ppl who only care about their own feelings but not the feelings of others.

Note to self: Always extend a helping hand to ppl that need your help.

Mountain climbing in a cave? ~Perak Tong trip~

Everyday on my way to work I always pass by some Tongs.

o.O What is a Tong?

Nonono.... not the malay word tong as in tong sampah (rubbish bin). It's Tong 洞 in chinese, literally meaning hole or in this case, cave.

Ipoh is known as 山城 (shan1 cheng2) or City of Hills because of its abundance of limestone hills surrounding the city. It's quite majestic to look at actually. The unique thing in Ipoh is that many of the caves in these hills are home to Chinese temples. Most of the temples are located at Gunung Rapat, which is near where I work.

For example,

Sam Poh Tong
Nam Thean Tong
Kwan Yin Tong
Kek Lok Tong
Ling Sien Tong

Did you notice that all the names of the temples end with Tong? Yep, that's right, it's because they are all located in the midst of the limestone hill caves.

However, there is still one famous Tong in Ipoh which isn't in the Gunung Rapat area. This Tong is named Perak Tong 霹雳洞 after Ipoh's state. It's located in the Gunung Tasik limestone caves and was built in 1926 by Buddhist priests from China. It houses over 40 Buddha statues with the tallest one measuring around 13m in height. There are also many beautiful murals on the cave walls.

The courtyard of Perak Tong actually looks like one of the courtyards in those classic chinese movies. I forgot to take a photo of it so I'll just post one of its pics from the internet.
I wasn't that interested in the statues in the temple, but was drawn to the murals and natural architecture inside the cave.

But before you go in, resident-temple-puppies-playing-snatch-with-joss- sticks will greet you at the door.

More murals of dragons and mythical characters from ancient chinese legends.

At the back of the cave, we find a passageway that takes us to the top of the limestone hill. At first, it looks creepy to me cos the white washed walls look like chinese cemetery tombstones to me. lolz... I didn't count the number of steps, but the information from various websites tell me that there are 385 steep steps to climb before we can reach the opening at the top.

How steep is 'steep'? This is the view when you look down behind you.

Higher and higher.....we finally reach the opening, and what am I greeted with?

The steps don't end there however. There are more steps that lead to a higher view on top of the hill. On the way, there are several pavilions we can rest at.

Can you spot me?

There is an open space some where in the middle that really looks like a scene from ancient kungfu movies. It looks like some kinda hidden Shaolin temple kungfu practice place.

There's a little hidden hall up here, plus calligraphy on the hillside.

This word means Buddha in chinese. I can just imagine some old monk leaping up to paint this piece of calligraphy on the wall.

Behind that small hall there are steps that lead up to the highest point of the hill. It's quite steep but it's worth the climb up there.

After resting and recovering our breath, we make our way down again.

Tanjung Malim Halal Pau

Stopped at Tanjung Malim on the way back here. Had been hearing about its famous pau's for a long time so decided to stop by at Yik Mun's. Almost thought I went to the wrong shop, because it looked like a Malay style eatery ..... selling malay food and having a green signboard..... luckily caught sight of the paus steaming in front of the shop.

The paus are Halal.... meaning they are alright for Muslim consumption. Sumthing like kosher food for Jews. So it is not suprising to see that 90% of the patrons there are Malay! Yik Mun has its own packaged frozen paus, pau flour, coffee powder etc..... while I was eating there I saw many ppl buying the frozen pau back home to steam.

There are 4 types of pau sold at that stall, Curry Chicken, Curry Beef, kacang (bean) and kaya (some kinda jam). I tried the Curry Chicken pau.... hmm.... the pau bread was quite hard and dry, and the curry chicken.... was very minced, quite dry and a bit bland. I tried the Curry Beef pau..... same hard dry skin..... more meaty flavor... but very salty....I didn't try the kacang and kaya paus.... but if the curry paus are a standard to go by, the kacang and kaya paus would be a disappointment to me too.

Finally got my Phomera! It's a bday prezzie from dad... ^^ A special edition Barney colored Sony Ericsson K770i. It's real thin and fits in my pocket just nice. Only I miss my old Samsung phone which was smaller..... It has a 3.2 Mp camera which has all the types of modes and settings that my old Kodak digi camera used to have. In other words, it's actually a small camera which I can use to make calls with o.O

Comes with picture editing software to fix the lighting and add effects too! >>>>>>>
This picture was taken with the solarize effect .... hence the surreal color. I used the photofix function to fix the lighting and then the Photo DJ to add on the butterfly to cover up my messy room behind... lol ^^

Today I went to the SPCA in Ipoh. If I did not deliberately look for it I would have missed it! It's tucked away under the hillside at Jalan Gopeng, and its signboard is small and covered by grass. Many ppl still do not know what does SPCA stand for..... it actually stands for Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals! The branch in Ipoh has its own webby.... at http://www.aramisdesign.com/ispca/index.html.

So, some background on the ISPCA for the benefit of all u hopeless clueless ppl out there.

The Ipoh Society for the Preventation of Cruelty to Animals (ISPCA) is a non-profit organization formed under the Societies Act,1966.

The objectives and goals of the Society are:

to prevent cruelty to animals;
to encourage the adoption of strays from the ISPCA;
to provide care and shelter for unwanted animals until they are adopted;
to inculcate an attitude of kindness and caring for animals;
to encourage the neutering of pets by their owners.

Ok, so now u know!!!! Too many ppl go around their lives with no concern of other species at all!
For me, its more worth it to care about animals such as dogs because of their loyalty and sincerity which is really lacking in the Homo sapiens species.

I sincerely encourage ppl who are looking for a pet to find one first at the SPCA or even take in a homeless stray dog. Don't just look for a 'branded' pet..... ur just encouraging breeders to breed more dogs into this world while the rest of the stray dog population struggle to live! As my banner displays above, Love Needs No Pedigree. Visit the SPCA website to take a look at the cute doggies that are waiting for u to adopt.

Seeing that I own too many dogs already, (5 dogs in my hometown), I decided to foster a dog at the ISPCA instead. Fostering means paying a monthly sum for the food and maintenance of the dog at the shelter. This helps because SPCA does not receive any government funding at all!!! They survive on public donations and fund raising activities.

The dog I chose for my foster pet is named Roger. In my excitement, I totally forgot to take a photo of him haha..... But he is really special. He has beautiful beautiful green eyes and smooth fluffy light brown and white fur. Maybe next time I'll post a photo of him.

In my visit to the ISCPA, I saw that the dogs where kept in cages that were clean and all of them looked healthy. The environment there is peaceful as it is located just at the hillside. There are over 150 cats and dogs there. Below are some of the dogs that I came across this afternoon.

And last but not least, there was this little puppy roaming around when I came in ^^ He's cute isn't he? He's so fluffy o.O haha....

I like her, she's mysterious, wise and cool.

This movie is actually based on the book 'Northern Lights' which is part of Phillip Pullman's trilogy 'His Dark Materials'. This trilogy consists of 3 titles, namely Northern Lights, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass.

I haven't read the books yet but this trilogy is definitely on my next to-buy list. However, this trilogy is definitely controversial because some religious groups have deemed its theme Anti-Catholic. Well, I guess they read too much into it sometimes.

The heroine of this movie is actually a girl named Lyra Belaqua. Little is known about her past here, but we are told that she is going to play a major part in a prophecy yet to come. She comes into possession of an alethiometer a.k.a. The Golden Compass, which tells her the truth when she uses it. Only a few ppl can use alethiometers, and she is one of them.

I don't wanna go into details of the movie and spoil it for those that haven't seen it. But it was a breathtaking adventure for me. It involves parallel universes, witches, Gyptians, armored bears, daemons..... coupled with ideas from fields such as physics, philosophy and theology.

I loved Iorek Byrnison, the armored talking polar bear. He's noble, brave and kind..... hurt by past issues but manages to overcome them.

Maybe I'm a little biased, but the sight of all the animals in the movie made this movie memorable for me. The animals are actually daemons, which are the manifestation of the human soul in that universe. They stay near their human counterparts and only stabilize in form after the human reaches adolescence. The form will represent the character of the human.

Bears like Iorek however, have no daemon. Instead, his armor is his soul which he shapes himself. Speaking of daemons, u can find out what daemon would have suited u in the official golden compass website, www.goldencompassmovie.com.

Mine is a Snow Leopard, just like Lord Asriel's. However, it's form won't finalize for at least 12 days. So, if u think u know me well, u could change the form of it before it stabilizes.

Treasure Hunt!!!!

Been a long time since I entered a treasure hunt! Before this I'd entered 2 and a half treasure hunts before. 1st time was a Avillion Merdeka Treasure Hunt, 2nd time was MMU Convo Treasure Hunt and the half time belonged to Singapore Tourism Board Treasure Hunt. Why do I consider it just half a treasure hunt?? Cos we couldn't even get to the 2nd clue after searching high and low in Singapore for it. I guess that was on too high a level for us lol.... Anyway all the treasure hunts were fun and memorable experiences.

We paid rm10 per person, and got rm40 rebate back for petrol, an Ivan colored T-shirt, Sandwiches for breakfast and a buffet high-tea at Teluk Batik Resort. Besides that, we got the memorable experience of a treasure hunt, what more can u ask for?

Had to change our plans to go hunting in the Kelisa becos we found out at the last minute that the brakes didn't work well. So we trudged on in Peter's warcar. Reached the starting point b4 8am, got our T-shirts, petrol $$ and car stickers.

Changed into our T-shirts and got into photo taking mode cos we anticipated we would be too bz later during the hunt.

Just before we get flagged off we are reminded to reset our mileage meter to 0. Only then did we realize the warcar didn't have the reset function. Oh well, we can always take down the starting mileage and add the rest on later. We were handed our prepacked sandwiches and the question for the treasure hunt.

We dashed off without reading the clues and with no idea what we should do. We figured out that there would be a clue at around 1.5km from the starting point. So all of us kept an eye on the meter to see where traveling 1km along the road would take us. After watching the meter for quite some time, only did we notice that THE METER DID NOT MOVE AT ALL!

By then we had passed 3 or 4 of the clues.... We decided to go back to Peter's house to get Lyann's car to use for the rest of the journey. So we charged thru some small roads and shortcuts only to find ourselves coming out at Checkpoint A. We checked ourselves in and charged our way back to Peter's house feeling a bit disappointed because we thought that we had lost our chance to win anything.

Only to find out that the car stickers couldn't be peeled off properly. *more disappointed*

Went back on track after wasting more than half an hour doing nothing useful......

Reached checkpoint B...... really relieved to find that there were still many groups there and also that we weren't the last. At that station, we were asked to buy 2 items by deciphering the clue they gave us. Couldn't make heads or tails out of the clues so I decided to try my luck and ask the cashier what the rest of the ppl had bought. She slipped me a receipt quietly and I was so thankful. lol.......sneaky right? But u can't win if u don't try....^^

So we made our way from Jelapang to Menglembu to Ayer Tawar to Lumut....... stopping by at the mangrove park opposite Venice of Perak.... 2 bz deciphering the clues along the way, I forgot the names of the places we passed by on the way. We also mastered the art of estimating the kilometers traveled to get to the clues haha.....

After the last stop at Lumut we raced to the finishing point at Teluk Batik Beach Resort. Arriving just before 2 pm. We had high tea and waited for the results to be announced.

Garrrr...... I'm so annoyed.
After one day of training, I found out many issues happened ytd at work..... It must've been a hectic day for all the techs that worked on the machines ytd.... >.< san fu sai......

However, today the thing that really irked me was about ...............Nya-mah-wheee
one damn shift process tech who basically doesn't know anything about the workings of my machines...... and I don't actually see wat his job function is except to chit chat with the supervisor and line leader... and point blame at other ppl.....

The particular conversation that he said was:

Lemme tell you something, give you some advice from an old man. This........ is not ur place. U should not handle this process. Take some advice from this old man. Girls like you should be in departments like HR, Admin, or Customer Service. You are not suitable for this job. People that are polite and cute like u should not work here. Today I attended a training course for LEAN manufacturing at Meru Valley Golf & Country Club...... I got to play with legos... haha... It's been a long time since I played legos.... makes me feel like going to the shopping centre to buy a set of them.

The scenery at the golf club was quite beautiful and peaceful.... nice big and beautiful houses around the hillside..... nice weather too... cloudy but didn't rain at all. Training included breakfast, lunch and tea.... loved the sandwiches though lunch was slow to be served.

Just an entry to record this relaxing day down cos tomoro will be another day at hectic work.

Everytime I read a manga, watch an anime, I feel like staying in Japan. Feeling it's life, it's culture. JL is applying to study at KAIT for her masters. I feel so much like going there too. I remember taking Japanese language lessons in KL during my sec. school years. I even took Japanese language for my co-curricular subject in Uni.

But when I really think about it, there are so many things preventing me from going :( The masters course + intensive language course will take 3 yrs to complete. When I come back I'll be 27 or 28.... and still have to fight for a job with those young and eager fresh grads. And what then? I'll still be a corporate slave for the rest of my life.

I'll also have to use more of FAMA foundation funds, which I owe a lot to them already. I can just imagine what D would say if I said I quit my job again......... being jobless isn't easy u know. Also, C is going to pursue her tertiary education at the same time too, and I don't think it'll be locally or cheap either.

Isn't it alright to feel sad, feel grumpy, feel tired once in awhile?
How many times have u had to look cheerful and happy, when inside u don't feel that way at all?
How many times have u had to smile, when u didn't feel like smiling?
How many times have u had to engage in polite conversation, when u didn't feel like talking?
How many times were u made to do sumthing, or go sumwhere, without anybody asking for ur consent, and just assumed that u would do it?

I hate myself for always having to laugh off snide comments for the sake of being 'sporting' when inside I just feel like telling ppl off for these remarks..........

Having a blog..... is quite complex. Sometimes u can write watever u wanna write, but u will never know who will stumble upon what u have written. Paintball & feeling like crap

Aww man... I feel like crap! Have a splitting headache, a throat which hurts when I speak or swallow, hurting muscles everywhere and a fever. Save me!!!! But it's nothing..... nothing compared to her. She had a coma and landed in the ICU , stopped breathing for awhile, and she still went to work the next day. Even work so late summore..... No wonder he cares about her so much.

Now, knowing about her condition, I worry about her too. She's so strong and optimistic, completely opposite of me.... fragile and depressed. I urge her to seek treatment, she's still young after all.... there's still plenty of life ahead. If she could spend half a year of staying in the hospital for a chance at a longer and happier life, I give her my whole support to try to do it. Well, at least she started to take back her medicine. ughhh... shouldn't think about these kinda stuff now, my head is throbbing its killing me. Y do I have these frequent headaches?? Maybe I'm going mad or sumth.... o.O

Last Thursday I went for paintball match in Bkt. Gambir, Penang. My back hurt and I felt faint that day, but we still went for it even though it rained heavily.

Results: 1 match win, 1 match lose, and 1 match dunno wat happening oso o.O
Bullets: Orange soft pellets, about 200 plus bullets per pax
Price: about RM45 per person, Long sleeve shirt = RM2 , ugly vest: FOC (only 3 available)

The match ground looks like some kinda dilapidated terrorist hideout. Old tyres, wooden planks, tin barrels, wooden huts, mud tunnel and their very own water hole caused by the heavy rain.

Our guns, before they were loaded with the orange pellets. Quite heavy for me, the next day my hand kenot lift up adi... :P and we had to lift the gun high up in the air to surrender. I can't lift it so high, so I can't surrender o.O

Went to a big 3 storey petshop..... Awwww... so cute the dogs, have fish and some cats summore..The pug, husky, akita, and pekingese all veryvery cute.... aiyer... especially the pug...so fat...can i hug him pls???? @.@ I really love fat things......

Later went to Bkt. Tambun to eat seafood oso... yumyum.... contribute more to my sickness and high cholesterol =.="" sweat..... nvm... life is short, live it as I please. It's not as if ppl would notice if I died.

This is me. After work. It's around 8pm I guess.

Gotta work on Monday again, thinking thinking thinking of all the things I should do, haven't done and plan to do. Yay! It's a 3 day work week for me next week. Taking leave on Friday. Gotta go back.... to my new house ^^ see my Ah Man ^^

Maybe I'll take some pictures of it .... my new room ^^ M says she just got the bed in last week. This BenQ camera sucks.... the pics all turn out in a shade of brown, cos the lighting is not good. Always look like a kampung girl when I take pics using this camera.

Must adjust the lighting so many times onli it will look more.....normal.
But most of the times I'm lazy to edit my photos, so all of them are just straight from the camera. Feel like buying my own camera. Maybe an old model Sony CyberShot..... I don't need one which can take so many megapixels. Just a normal point and shoot camera for normal photos will do. I don even need up to 6 Megapixels.

Maybe I'll go camera hunting when I save enuff money. Can't seem to save enuff $$ here.... Even though I earn the same wage as I did before, the $$ i spend for lodging and food has doubled compared to Melaka. And I've made up my mind to give my family some money from my paycheck also. (yeah... I din give any before, I was saving for my grand travel plans, so sue me! :P) Anyway, it's more than one third of my paycheck gone like that... not including all the EPF and Socso and income tax stuff.... arghh..... Suddenly I realize money is very important!!!!

Ooh... Next Thursday is Deepavali and we're going to play paintball in Penang ^^ If I'm not lazy, I'll update my blog about that. :P Hope I survive F5!!!

Cause of death: Hit & run

Just 2 weeks from being lost & found...... to being cold & lifeless.

He went out again. Eyewitnesses say that he was seen crossing the road where he got hit by a car, crawled two steps to the grass and just died.

Sad.... :( Thus ended the life of the lilblackdog :( sad.....poor poor dog.... just becoming happy that he found his home again, then he go kena langgar by car and die.

Ytd had rough day at work, this morning dunno hu call me from work twice, (hope nothing serious happened) didn't see the miss calls cos looking for Dy.... Dy died.... all bad things happening. Dunno call who back, don care ady, monday onli find out what happened.

Been spending my time reading thru blogs lately..... I noticed that there are so many types of blogs out there. Serious ones and not so serious ones..... Ones that tell about the evryday life of it's owner, ones that talk about sum serious political agenda, technical blogs, blogs to commemorate a special occasion........

Like to read Xiaxue and kennysia's blogs.... they give u a lighter view in life plus there's not too much camwhoring going on there.... Can't stand blogs where every entry are half-brained entries filled with self-admiring photos just to get ppl to visit.... Blogs should be about ur own view or feelings, and not just copy + paste some excerpt or forwarded email/msg that u just received.

Reading thru some of my fren's blogs..... U get to know things that they wouldn't say to u in person.... U get to know some things u never tot u would.... I guess that's the beauty of a blog. Technically it's supposed to be ur online diary..... but by putting it online hundreds of other ppl may take a peek into ur life or ur thoughts. When u blog, u don care what others think, it's ur diary anyway.... Nobody starts a blog thinking that other ppl besides urself reads it.

For me, whatever u read from the blog stays in the blog. I don't question why is it my fren thinks that way or try to teach her some life lesson.... It is after all her own personal diary... she has the right to feel that way & blog that way...... If she needs support I'll be there for her, but unless she hints for it, I will not go poking my nose into her business. It's not that I don't care, I just respect her privacy.

To me, blogging is a way I can vent out my frustrations... or maybe just satisfy my whim of writing watever I want, whatever I feel. Sometimes it's just inconvenient to tell other ppl what ur feeling, writing in my blog is my way of therapy...... I may feel this way today, but another way tomorrow, who knows???? Everybody has their own problems, I don wanna bother others by telling them my problems.......

I just updated my blog a few hours ago, and now I'm sitting here writing another entry. The main reason is, I just found out that Leo & SyinNi will have Leo Jr. coming ~~~~ I just congratulated u in my blog for ur wedding a few months back, and now we have good news already!!! Real fast and efficient eh....

Wah..... seems that everywhere around me I hear news of new additions to the family. Am I really that old already? Lolz..... If I ask myself, would I be ready for marriage or a new family. I would say No..... I still have many issues I have to put behind first. My life isn't as simple as that. Sometimes, I get to the point where I'm tired of pretending that everything is all right. Sometimes I get tired of pretending I feel fine and happy.

Right now, I'm still settling in my new job here at Ipoh. Still in the semiconductor business but not as a Test eng. anymore. I'm working for end line assembly side. Job function wise, I feel I like what I'm doing is better than the job b4. People at the plant are nice and friendly (so far).... sometimes a little too friendly haha....

Apart from my job, I feel that I still miss Melaka very much. Miss the freedom it gave me.... How I could go have a haircut or do my facials at JJ nearby. How I could go shopping by myself cos it was so near. Spend the whole day wearing my PJs, watching anime and stuffing my face with junkfood cos there was no one in the house. How I could just pop down to JJ, tapau my sushi or buy a face mask at Watson's and come back to my house.

Here, I feel so ........ inconvenient. All the hairdressers here are Ahma shops. I don't mind getting my hair cut at Ahma shops, but it depends on what kinda Aunty cuts ur hair. Here, the Ahmas are the type that cut those bowl cut student haircuts that I used to hate, or spend their time perming other Aunties hair... The kampung beautician I haven't had the guts to try out yet. I have phobia thinking that she'll overpluck my eyebrows making me look like a permanently amazed Aunty. The place where I used to go for facials is not available in Ipoh, and the saloon that uses it's products is ~~ 30km away.

There is no JJ for a 30km radius, no bookstore that has English books, no Jap food.... it is also hard to get a copy of The Star. I'm so bored week after week that I have to travel so far just to go to a decent shop. I'm sitting here blogging cos there's nobody to teman me to go shopping for my usual beauty supplies and necessities (read: underclothes). The thought of travelling so far away to shop by myself is soooo..... un-tempting. God help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a simple girl but I'm not sure if I can adjust to 'kampung' life...arghhhhhhhhhh

Misfit, a person who is out of place, or outside the mainstream.

Yes, that's me. Somehow, I have felt out of place my whole life. Feel nobody really knows the real me. Outside, I look quiet and goody goody. Inside, I'm anything but. I have many things to say, many things I wanna tell somebody. But sometimes, I just can't find the right words to express my feelings.

Language...... is somewhat a barrier. Grew up speaking English at home (u know, the PCK type). Went to Chinese ed primary school without knowing a single word of Mandarin. Didn't really converse in Malay till Sec 4 where 95% of ppl in my Tech. School was Malay. Didn't start talking in Cantonese till I was in Uni. My brain is so messed up in diff languages, that I can't think straight in one single language.

For many years I have led a somewhat 'double' life. For the few ppl that know me, maybe some onli know me for half of what I am. To some, I was the straight A's, piano-playing, prefect in school. To some, I was the problematic student who never passed up her homework, talked back to teachers, broke the school rules, got into fights, and had the wrong company as friends.

I've lived a sheltered life all these years, which I have striven to break out of. I feel I'm so socially retarded. Feel so awkward around ppl even now. Doesn't help that I don't look my age, cos some ppl don't tend to take me seriously even when I know what I'm talking about. For me, I think I've been thru and seen more than the average person in my position has. Only that, I've just kept all that to myself. Prefer to observe ppl from afar instead of involving myself too soon.

All these years, the thing I've yearned for is a best friend. A girl who can go shopping with me, eating jap food, or drinking fruit juices with. Someone who can tell me her opinion on the outfit or shoes that I wanted to buy. Where to cut my hair, get a facial.... someone I can hang out with. Someone I can tell my relationship troubles to, or maybe listen to hers. I haven't found that someone yet. There were a few times I tot I did. But.....I dunno.... It's too complicated to tell what happened. Haven't been able to click with any girl for a long long time.

Last Saturday, which coincidentally is Hari Raya Day.... (Happy Hari Raya to all Muslims!) we went to Lata Kinjang in Tapah for a trip. It was raining heavily which made me hesitant to go at first, but since the people which had reached the waterfall said it was not raining there, we decided to go and take a look. I had never been to Lata Kinjang before....

For those of u who dunno what is Lata Kinjang, it's one of the tallest waterfalls in Malaysia. U can see it easily when u travel along the North-South expressway towards the North. It's over 800 feet of cascading vertical water, originating from a stream....

As u can see, it's really magnificent.

So, we made our way all the way across Tapah, reaching Chenderiang village, and following the signboards up to Lata Kinjang. On the way, the weather alternated from heavy downpour to slight drizzling. Occasionally, we would be greeted by a patch of sun peeking out from the rainclouds. I'm thinking we must be crazy to go to a waterfall amidst such crazy weather.

When we reach, it's just drizzling slightly. We park our car at the carpark below and climb the steps all the way up to the top. The steps only reach the suspension bridge sumwhere 2/3rds up the waterfall. We find the rest of the gang sheltering under some bamboo trees there. It really really is a beautiful sight..... I'm standing in the middle of the bridge --- look up and I can see the water just gushing down from the top.... look down and I see that the water continues cascading over huge rocks and flowing into little pools at the side.

Okok, I didn't bring a camera, so I took these photos from a site called waterfallsofmalaysia.com.
That (Indian?) man is standing on the suspension bridge. The waterfall sumhow looks a bit dried up in this pic, cos when I went it was raining. Anyhow, pay attention to that tree on the left. It played a pivotal part in the disaster that I'm gonna talk about.

So, I was sitting at the sideway near this part of the waterfall, just letting the water rush past my feet. When suddenly, the people were hurriedly saying lets go lets go....o.O Not being one to argue, I just got up and went back to the 'picnic' place where we had left our bags. Suddenly, I heard a really loud noise of water rushing down, and I looked back to where I was sitting just now. A big gush of water came tumbling down from the top of the waterfall, it was brownish in color, not the clear water just moments ago.....the water had covered up the rock that I had been sitting on earlier.

I looked back up at the suspension bridge, and I saw a Malay woman standing near the tree which I talked about on top. She was frantically clutching on to her child ( I think a little girl about 7 / 8 yrs old). I could just see the water pouring fiercely down from there.... and I was so afraid that they would get washed down the waterfall. Luckily the tree managed to block some of the water that was gushing down, and her family/ friends managed to pull her up from the side.

We quickly took our belongings and left cos the water coming down was getting heavier and heavier.....really really gushing down and swallowing the rocks that were so prominent just moments ago. Just imagine the few pics above. No sight of any rocks to be seen, just brown water rushing down..... The little child which nearly drowned was so afraid, her face was just white as a sheet. Some of us lost our slippers cos the water came too fast and washed the slippers away. It's lucky that they didn't go back to pick the slippers lest they got washed away too.

I'll try to get the pics of the waterfall, before and after the flashflood. Somebody did take some pics of them that day.... Anywayz... the lesson of this story is... never go to a waterfall or a river when it is raining!!!! You never know what lesson Mother Nature might try to teach u.

I opened the door, only to be attacked from the back with a flying leap from no other than DY!!!! wth!?!?!?! He kept greeting me with flying yip-yip-yips...... I think he was trying to tell me something. Too bad I don't speak 'dog'. Anyway he looks very happy to be back home.

He looks emaciated... kinda like a walking skeleton. He was already skinny to start with, now he's just ------ bones that walk. I'm surprised he can leap that high!

Where has he been?!?!? Could he have wandered around for almost 2 weeks with nothing to eat??? Could he have been kidnapped by sumwan??? What I think is that sumwan saw him by the roadside and brought him home to rear as his/her own. Oblivious to the fact that Dy is a persistent carnivore who only eats meat and meat alone!!! U never would have thought that, looking at his skeletal frame....

Anyway, Dy was found / or rather he found the maid while she was cycling around town this morning.... and he followed her back home .... home sweet home!!! He's back in his usual place in the shoe cupboard. And he'll continue peeking around and jumping on laps since he's back now.... Do you think the cats missed him???

Mooncake day~~~~~ Part 1

I've been going thru an orientation program at my new company last week. Among the 9 ppl, there were 3 Filipino guys in the class. They were saying that they weren't quite used to the spicy Malay food here, and they had been having chicken evryday for the past few weeks. haha.....This is how it is in our multiracial country. The canteen doesn't serve pork because of the Malays @ Muslims, and it doesn't serve beef because of the Indians @ Hindus. Sooo.... all we get is chicken and maybe fish. But we are lucky they do serve anything at all, as it is the fasting month. Anyway, I get the feeling that they love pork.... mention anything that has pork in it and their eyes light up! o.O

So I told them about some Chinese food they could try.... like char siew, siew yoke, zhong (dumpling with pork)...... and talking about food, they asked me why did we call a mooncake a mooncake. (They had sumthing similar to that back home but it was called a diff name) Which brings me back to think about the origins of Mooncake day....oops Mid-Autumn Festival 中秋节 which falls on the 15th day of the 8th month in the Lunar calendar, which is Sept 25th this yr.

In my memory, there are a few Mid-Autumn stories my mom used to tell me. One was a legend about Chang Er the moon goddess, then another was about a woodcutter and a rabbit o.O, and another more serious story which really happened in history was about hiding msgs in mooncakes to facilitate a revolution. But all these stories are hazy in my mind now, so I decided to get my facts straight about them now.

They are many variations to the Chang Er story, but basically, the main elements are : Hou Yi the great archer, Chang Er the moon goddess, 10 Suns, Elixir of Life, The Moon.

The story goes like this :

One day, the 10 sons of the Jade Emperor turned themselves into 10 suns. The 10 suns appearing around earth at once scorched the ground and caused death and destruction to the mortals on earth. The Jade Emperor turned to the Hou Yi for help. Hou Yi then shot them down one by one with his bow and arrows. His wife Chang Er pleaded with him to leave at least one sun/son alive, which is the sun that we have now. The Jade Emperor was very angry, knowing that 9 of his son's had been killed by Hou Yi. He banished Hou Yi and Change Er to live as mortals on earth. Chang Er was very unhappy so Hou Yi went to look for the elixir of life so that both of them could remain as immortals. However, Chang Er drank the whole bottle herself and due to the overdose, floated up to the moon. She became the moon goddess and made the Moon Palace her home.

Staying on the moon by herself would be very very lonely for her so there are a few other moon characters such as Wu Gang the woodcutter and Yu Tu the jade rabbit to keep her company. More mooncake festival stories about that in my next blog. May also consider introducing my fav mooncake flavors too haha....

Of Glass & Blood

I had the most horrific experience involving glass and lotsa dripping blood last Wednesday.

Dear D knocked into the sliding glass door of our new house, smashing 2 panels of glass at once. When I turned around I saw him kneeling down on the sharp glass shards while another piece of glass fell down and shattered right in front of me. >.< HORRORS!!!!!!!! f5f5f5

He stood up slowly still unaware of the seriousness of the situation. M started going really really hysterical shouting and rushing towards the glass. It took me some effort to keep obviously panic stricken M from running to the glass. D stood up and the blood started dripping dripping dripping........ from his legs and hands... he touched his forehead and for a moment it looked as if his head was bleeding too...T_T

D still went to put ManMan back to his cage.....coating his fur with a layer of blood in the process. We managed to get D out to the car porch dripping blood on the marble floor, the porch and the car in the process...... just dripdripdripdripdripidrip...... M grabbed the nearest (later we found out also the filthiest) cloth nearby to stop the blood from dripping evrywhere. She also used D's hanky and the absorbent yellow car cloth to stop his blood. The hanky was soaked through.... dark red with his blood.

D still wanted to drive himself to the doctor but we ushered him to the back seat. D dripped blood all over the car steps, door, cushion..... and even the front seat when he tried to drive. I drove him to the Town Clinic..... When they got down the car, M suddenly said 'Ahhh wat's that?!!?" I turned around to look onli to c sumthing red, long and bloody which resembled some kinda intestinal stuff drop down on the road. OMG>>>>........ Wtf was that!!!! Phew.... luckily it was 'just' clotted blood which decided to drip down at once at that very moment. D dripped more blood all the way to the clinic.

Dr. Dillon gave D some tetanus shots and stiched a total of 12 stitches for D on his arms and legs...... all for a total of RM130. Luckily got money to pay.....sweat.... I asked D to call the indoman to sweep the glass shards up. zzzz......later after that D still wanted to hobble back to the new house to check on the glass panels. Think he's superman.....

Go home change dressing for him...... yuck...all the blood stick to the gauze liao.... + the yellow solution or puss and the black stitches....(must take out next week) Summore complain feel faint.... but yet sleep later than all of us. Change dressings for him few times liao he say the gauze too thick for him...kenot wear his jeans. Aiya.... just buy that expensive post-op dressing plaster for him stick there suan liao....f5f5f5f5 so scary..... The most blood I have seen in my whole life....even though I see it evry month zzzzzzzz........

He's tall, dark, and handsome.....He likes to play a little ruff sumtimes, but that's the way I like it o.O He's been in my life for 4 years + now.....

This isn't ahMan..... but it really does like him when he was small.....It's actually a Rottweiler puppy. I don't have any digital photos of him when he was small. He grew up pretty fast.... Only a few months as a small puppy, then I couldn't carry him anymore ... sob >.<

There's a weird little creature outside the house. It' s smaller than the house cat and bigger than a mouse....... it follows me up and down and all around. Uses all of its 4 legs to jump around.....and when u sit on a chair it will perform a flying leap up to ur lap!

Her blog is one of the most popular blogs in Singapore. She loves pink and she's not afraid to show it. However, her blog is not ur typical sweet-pink-airhead-lovely type of blog that's full of self portraits and conceited self admiration topics...... NoOoooO...... She has more attitude than she shows!

She speaks her mind and doesn't give a hoot if u don't agree with her opinion. That's what a blog should be, a place where u can write down ur own opinion! It doesn't have to be politically correct or polite, it's ur own blog and that's y u can write whatever u want in it!!!! Her blog is that controversial because she dares to speak her mind. For ppl who can't take her comments with a pinch of salt, they can always stop reading her blog o.O duh....

I've been searching for sumwan, and old friend, it's been many years since we talked. I still remember the dreams we used to share and the fun we had. The snail mails we wrote, as thick as books. The hand made presents I used to receive.

Sitting on the floor blogging on one of the last days of my life here in Melaka. Nearly all the furniture and stuff has been shifted back home. I'll really miss this place. The happiest things and saddest things have happened to me here during the last 6 yrs.

I'll miss ............

lazing around in the house with nobody around to tell me what to do.
going out late at night for yamcha without worrying what time I should go back.
taking a walk outside with the little kids and ahman and emma and henry and that other little doggy.
going to JJ alone and buying whatever I like.
my uni days and my uni frens.
sitting in the house with ahman and hugging him and looking at the moon and stars.
Swinging all alone in the playground.
wearing the clothes I like.
Yeoji...who's dead now. I'll always rmb the time that she would follow me behind my bicycle and come when I called her. I'll always rmb the happy times that she used to play with me & ahman. Whoever poisoned her, I hope he/she will get poisoned him/herself and die a death a 1000 times more painful.
going fishing, going to play counter strike, warcraft.

Henry just came over whining for attention and begging to play as usual. I'm thinking that after we're gone, would he be puzzled as to where we have all gone to? Wonder if he'll miss me and who will he play with next time. I hope the new tenants are good ppl. I hope emma and family will have a happy and long life ahead. T_T sobzzzz.....

What is trust?

Trust. Can't seem to understand how to trust. Trust is just something u tell others to do when u can't explain and don't wanna admit that u have lied to them. To tell the truth, I'll never ever trust anyone 100%. That's sumthing I used to do a long time ago, and bad experiences have made me trust ppl less and less.
What I believe is that the more u trust sumwan, the more hurt u will get when u find out that sumwan betrayed ur trust. I can't trust my emotions 100%, y should I trust others? I wonder what it is to feel like having sumwan u know u can trust completely. It must be relaxing just putting ur whole heart into it, without having to worry. When can I learn to 'trust' like that, and more importantly is there anyone that I can trust right now?

Almost everybody from our old yamcha/lepak/trip group attended. Syinni looks like a Barbie doll... so pretty ^^

Food was ok I think. Only that the waiters/waitresses kept on forgetting to serve our table with food. Haha.... making our stomachs growl even more. No choice but to fill our stomachs with CocaCola. (No alcohol allowed o.O)

Nice slideshow and songs by Leo n ahyee.... the thing that tickled me most was the performance by 'Mr. Apple' o.O Wonder how he is related to Syinni.... His name oso farny enuff adi, summore he manage to sing all of his notes off key, but sing with so much confidence like he purposely do dat for improvisation de... Wahlau... high hand! Too bad never record it down.

Stumbled upon Leonard's blog a month ago. Guess I'd do some free publicity for it hahah....
Hmm... new entries once in a while when he has the urge to do some blogging. Notice all his entries have to do with lurve... haha. It's seldom you find a guy who's clear and outspoken about his views of this subject. Hmmm.... the sign of a mature man. haha... You can really see he adores SyinNi very much here since he mentions her in almost every entry. Yep, I can see you're both ready for marriage. ^^

I've been listening to the radio and I noticed a song that has gotten a lot of air time lately. Recognized immediately the vocals of Avril Lavigne, what I didn't recognize was the style. I used to like Avril. She was full of spunk, full of that angst that a rock chick needed. The songs that she wrote had meaning, and whenever I needed a little pick me up or felt angry, I used to turn up the speakers and blast her songs full on. I used to like her unique style which was later copied up by young girls worldwide. You know, the tie with a t shirt icon. Later she dyed parts of her blonde hair black, which I thought was cool.

I dunno if she has gone soft after she got married last year. But take a look at these album covers.

2nd trip to Kelong Acheh

I'm sitting in front of the computer at 6 am in the morning cos I had a bad dream and woke up. Just had 3 hours of sleep. It's raining out there. Should be a nice time to sleep but I can't seem to stay asleep for long. I should be tired, I just came back from kelong acheh in mersing (www.kelongacheh.com) ytd night.

Still lazy putting off my plans to write about UK so I guess I'll write about kelong acheh for the moment haha... This is the 2nd time I've been there, with almost the same group of fishing kaki. The first time was a bit of a disappointment because we couldn't get any big fish. But it was still a comfortable place to visit as far as kelong's go. Big clean rooms, abundant water supply to take bath in, many bathrooms, good seafood, nice view.... It's a 5 star kelong compared with others in the market.

In charge of catching bait ^

Well, this time we got a better result. 6/7 todak (long blue-green fish with sharp nose) and one parang (aka sai dou yu.... u know the fish they use to make fish balls with).

The todak that was caught weighed nearly 2kg. Personally, i think it looks beautiful. The bones of the todak are also blue-green in colour. The flesh however.....hmm can't describe it. The texture not smooth enuff for my liking haha.... we gave the rest of the fish to a family that stayed at the kelong at the same time as us.

I may not have caught this fish, but I caught the bait that lured it in >.<

After a months rest from blogging, I'm finally back from UK.
Looking thru my blog, I noticed that my some of my posts in the blog seem to be scaring those of you who read my blog. So I've done a little editing and deleting of some very personal posts which I guess wasn't meant for the world to see.
For those of you who have expressed their concern and offered help, I thank you for remembering me. Do not think too much or too seriously of somethings I've wrote, I'm just writing my thoughts out (maybe a little too frankly and darkly). But writing is also a part of therapy. Some emotions help you get thru life, add to ur life's experience, helps you grow. And when I look back on this 10 years down the road, I'm sure I'll laugh to myself. Life goes on, and I have many things to look forward to in my life.

The next few posts will be about my trip to UK. Since it's about a month's vacation, there are soooooo many photos which I'll have to sort out and post up here once I'm done.

Sheffield

I'm in Sheffield now. Oh boy, the journey over here has been a verry long one. First a 13 hour flight direct from KLIA to London. Then a 1 hour ride on the Piccadilly (LRT equivalent in Malaysia), followed by a 4 1/2 hour ride on the bus to reach here. This doesn't count the 3 hour delay courtesy of the MAS aircraft.

We reached here about 3 or 4am UK time... and then lugged our luggage around for 15 mins before reaching the house. :P It's like 10 degrees here now. Brrrr..... and it's supposed to be nearing summer. All the houses here look almost the same, the exterior looks like unplastered bricks, and their gardens are veryvery small. If u could call that few feet of ground a garden.

Off to the UK

Well, after planning for this trip for quite a long time, I'm finally going to go for a vacation in UK. I'll be gone for almost 1 month there, and most probably won't be updating my blog till after I get back. Everything about this trip will be organized by ourselves, and will also be staying over at How's house over in Sheffield. He's taking his Masters in Adv. Eng. over there, and will be graduating soon.

We've also planned to hop over to Paris. I hope the language barrier there won't be that much of a problem. My knowledge of French is just limited to some common words like bonjour, and some music terms which I learnt in music theory a long time ago. haha...

So today is the last day i will be online, before i set off "backpacking around europe". I'll write about my trip when I get back, not that anyone reads my blog anyway (my most frequent visitor is J0hnny lol...). Take care J0hnny ! Until I get back!

ATM ate my card!!!!

Haiz.... I was so unlucky yesterday. Went all the way to town to the one and only HSBC branch in Melaka to withdraw money from the ATM. After keying in my pin number, I pressed the check balance button and the STUPID ATM MACHINE ate my card!!!! zzzzzzzzzzzzzz........... Now I have to go all the way there again during bank working hours to find out what went wrong. Stupid HSBC, always making trouble for me. It's already enough trouble that I cannot withdraw money from my HSBC account from other ATMs and now it wants me to brave the traffic jam and the ridiculously limited parking spaces around the bank to find out what went wrong... OMG gimme a break already !!!!

Phew! Finally back from hometown after a week.... I see si Johnny has adorned my chatbox with his usual rantings again =.=

Haiz, I think I'll be deprived of the net for a few more days though. My computer just conked out on me after I switched it on. Zzzz..... Why Why Why!!!!! I hope it's just something to do with the power suppply. All my stuff is in the hard disk and I haven't even backed it up yet!!! F5!!!!
POor computer has no response whatsoever when I press the power on button.... sigh....
Any tech gurus out there to help me?!!?!?

Went to watch '300' a few weeks back, didn't think to blog about it until now. Yeah I know, I'm one helluva lazy blogger, who cares -.- .'300' is based on a graphic novel by Frank Miller (also of Sin City fame) which is also a semi-historical account of the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC. This movie is also infamously known to be denounced and banned by the Iranian government for it's unflattering depiction of the Persian army, Asians and people of the East. In the movie, the bad guys are portrayed as idol worshiping middle Easterners, elite assassins in King Xerxes' army ( The Immortals) look and fight like Japanese ninjas and once again elephants are portrayed as demon beasts (remember Lord of the Rings?). Typical US/Hollywood mentality.... let the Westerners or white people be the heroes, and the Asians or brown people be the bad guys, 'very refreshing =.='.

Ok, political conspiracies aside, this movie is actually quite entertaining and it is by itself a magnificent visual feast for the eyes. Firstly, there are the delicious, hunky and macho Spartan army to ogle at. All complete with six-packs, handsome features and that manly swagger when they walk. Undoubtedly, they have the whole package thing going for them. They seem completely immune to the cold and wind as they march to battle in nothing but their leather underwear, crimson cloak, Spartan shield and spear.

Secondly, the scenes of this film are just breathtaking thanks to the wonders of digital graphics and the blue screen. Realistically, only one scene, in which horses travel across the countryside, was shot outdoors. The Spartans are posed against the horizon or along the crests of mountains under rolling skies. The softening colors of blue and yellow have been filtered or drained out of the palette; the dominant remaining color is the molten brown-gold of bronze shields. The action is prolonged in agonizing slow motion, only to snap to hyper-speed and then to a full stop, leaving nothing moving but the fountain of blood spurting from a decapitated body. Yes, it's also quite a gory show with blood splattering here, there and everywhere.

On a side note, I also liked Queen Gorgo. In '300' she is respected, wise, beautiful and brave. A lethal and attractive combination suitable for a Queen. She oozes sex appeal in a toga without looking over exposed or being too 'well endowed'. Looking Queen Gorgo up on Wikipedia shows that she is noted as one of the few female historical figures actually named by Herodotus, and she is known for her political acumen and wisdom. Therefore her portrayal in '300' is actually quite accurate historically.

In the movie, she is questioned by the Persian messenger on why she, a mere woman, is allowed to speak amongst men. She retorted: "Because we are also the only ones who give birth to true men." According to Wikipedia she actually did utter those words although in another situation.

"Plutarch quotes Queen Gorgo as follows: "When asked by a woman from Attica, 'Why are you Spartan women the only ones who can rule men?', she said: 'Because we are also the only ones who give birth to men.'" Another version has this as, "...some foreign lady, as it would seem, told her that the women of Lacedaemon were the only women in the world who could rule men; 'With good reason,' she said, 'for we are the only women who bring forth men.'" (Plutarch's Lives: Lycurgus)"

Maple..... that level grinding game where the ultimate goal is to lvl up lvl up and more lvl up. zzzzzz...... The game where most of the gamers are rude, obnoxious little kids which like to show off in terms of $ (@-cash and mesos) , damage, equipment and level. Tell ppl ur above 16 yrs old and they'll say ur ancient.

I'm a bandit (dit for short ) in maple which has survived 64 grueling levels to be where i am now. Save mesos like mad until I have 10 mil, which I will have to spend away in order to upgrade my equipment and survive.

My maple char sakaiiiiiiii (8 i's) has evolved from a blacko to a whito in this span of time. Unwillingly evolved I should say, thanks to a 'gift' from an in-game friend which bleached my skin akin to Michael Jackson. But overall, this skin makeover has brought on more good than bad. I don't get called a 'bangla' anymore (ZZZzzz Racists.....) and ppl tend to help me more. Haizz... this goes to show that looks matter even in a virtual environment.

Just read the latest episode of Bleach manga.... Rukia's getting cooler (pun intended) and cooler by the episode. Releasing her third dance of Sode no Shirayuki. Gotta admit I didn't quite like her in the beginning, too needy and puny. But now she's starting to kick-ass! You go, girl!!! lol....
